[I'm looking
for EXTREMELY SIMPLE, RELIABLE options to explain/recommend - or
better yet - to link to someone else's really clear explanation
of how to create your own integrated set of Listserv, Blog,
Feed, Podcast, Shared Planning Document, YouTube videos, Regular Live Session,

NOTES ABOUT TOOLS FOR CREATING, SUBSCRIBING TO, AND
MANIPULATING FEEDS
For additional introductory and related resources, also see:
www.tltgroup.org/blogs.htm
Note1: Blogger to create feeds
You need a tool to create "feeds" if you want others to be able
to "subscribe" to your blog or Web page. Blogger can
automatically create a feed for you.

Note2: Bloglines - Free News Aggregator [Feed Reader]
You need a tool (alternative labels with slightly different meanings:
"news aggregator," "RSS reader," "feed reader," feed aggregator," or
"news reader") if you want to receive "feeds" like the ones above;
i.e., you need a tool to help you:
a) choose among Web resources that offer feed subscriptions
b) choose HOW and WHEN you want to be notified of new info from
these sources.
Bloglines is one option I recommend. See
http://www.bloglines.com/:
"...Bloglines is a FREE online service for searching, subscribing,
creating and sharing news feeds, blogs and rich web content. With
Bloglines, there is no software to download or install -- simply
register as a new user and you can instantly begin accessing your
account any time, from any computer or mobile device."
Some of
these tools work when installed on your own computer. Other news
aggregators, such as Bloglines, offer their services from a "server" on
the Web, so that you can use them by directing any computer to the
appropriate Web site.

Note3: iTunes as a "podcatcher"
A podcatcher is a "feed reader" with the capability
of receiving feeds that include audio files.
iTunes
is one option I recommend. See:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/
"...iTunes automatically downloads each new episode as it becomes
available. ... Every podcast on the iTunes Music Store is free. With the
click of a button, you get the most recent episode — and all future
episodes — automatically delivered directly to your iTunes podcast
playlist. ..." and automatically loaded to your iPod/MP3 player if
you wish.

Note4: Use Feed2JS to create table of contents
Feed2JS, developed by Alan Levine, is a free Web-based tool for manipulating feeds in other ways.
It was used to create an automatically updated Web page for the TLT-SWG
"Table of Contents" at:
http://www.tltgroup.org/tlt-swg/contents.htm
For access
to Feed2JS, see:
http://www.tltgroup.org/feed/build.php

Note5: YouTube as "Channel" for Distributing
Video Recordings
"YouTube is an online video streaming
service that allows anyone to view and share videos that have been
uploaded by our members." - from Web site 3/28/2007. See help info
available at:
http://www.google.com/support/youtube/
